Pahalgam Terror Attack

21st April Sunday, it was a common day for most of us but not for the Pahalgam’s tourist and rural peoples. It was around 3:45 pm, a Convoy bus carrying the tourist, generally belong from Maharashtra and Gujrat returning from the Aru and Betaab Velly when it had happened.

As per the initial report there was three attackers (Terrorist) who takes the advantage of the forest to hiding themselves and started the firing over the bus passing through. All three have an automatic gun like ‘AK-47’. After the initial firing they throws the grenades over the bus to maximise the Chaos and casualties.

Due to the chaos and panic between the passengers, the bus has lost his control and veered off the road, tumbling down a slope — causing more injuries and deaths.

Jammu & Kashmir Police, CRPF, and Army reached the site within 30 minutes. Locals helped move the injured to Anantnag District Hospital and Srinagar via chopper and ambulance. 26 people lost their lives due to incident. where 25 tourists reported from Indian and 1 is from Nepal. and 34+ are injured (some are in critical condition)

Who is responsible for this?

India has pointed to Pakistan-based terror groups, with early leads suggesting involvement of The Resistance Front (TRF) or Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

Two attackers identified as Pakistani nationals, one local guide possibly involved as a spotter.

WHAT IS THE MAJOR ACTION’S TAKEN BY INDIAN GOVERNMENT.

In a response of Pakistani’s attack Indian government has taken 5 big decisions

1. Suspension of the Indus Waters (1960) 💧💧💧💧
  • According to sources, India has banned the Indus water which were supplied from the India
  • This is a first-ever move since the treaty was brokered by the World Bank in 1960.
  • India will now retain and redirect the water flow of eastern rivers (Ravi, Beas, Sutlej) entirely for its own use.
  • The entire impact of this move is very huge as the Pak-people are badly depends on Indus basin for drinking water and agriculture—this is being seen as an economic and environmental pressure tactic.
  •
2. Downgrading Diplomatic Relations 🛂
  • India expelled Pakistani diplomats from New Delhi.
  • Indian High Commissioner was recalled from Islamabad.
  • Future diplomatic engagement has been frozen indefinitely.
3. Ban Complete Visa of Pakistan ✈️
  1. The government has revoked all the Pak-Visa Immediately and stopped processing for any new visa for the citizens of Pakistan.
4.  Closure of Land Border🚫
  • The Wagah-Attari Border—the only official land crossing between India and Pakistan—was shut down.

  • Affects trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges.

5. International Blame and Pressure🕵️
  • India publicly named Pakistan-based terror groups (e.g., Lashkar-e-Taiba, TRF) as being behind the attack.

  • Launched a diplomatic offensive globally, urging countries like the US, UK, France, and the UN to:

    • Condemn Pakistan’s support for terrorism

    • Push for sanctions or blacklisting of groups and individuals

As usual, Pakistan has completely denied having anything to do with the attack. Now they’re trying to save face on the international stage, acting like they have no idea who did it, why it happened, or how it even went down.

Pakistan has officially called off the Simla Agreement — the deal that kept talks going since the 1971 war. Basically, it means all diplomatic ties are now totally broken.
